1. Functions of Early Art a. What were the cave artists trying to say? - I believe that they were showing how they lived their lives and the certain people and things that were important to them. After looking at the art, they mainly focused on the people and animals that were involved in their lives. The art of the animals showed them traveling and how they acted in certain areas. The cave paintings show their cultural traditions that involved the people and animals. b. Why do you think that there were so many animals and not as many people in the paintings? -I think that were was more paintings of animals than people because they were constantly surrounded by the animals in the paintings. They wanted to show the different kinds of animals that they were able to hunt and eventually eat.
